Community Options Illawarra Inc. (COI) commenced in April 1988 as a single service and initially called Wollongong Community Options Inc. and auspiced by Wollongong City Council

Change of auspice occurred in 2000, following the take over of the financial management and Monitoring by DADHC in 1999

Shoalhaven Community Options began in May 1989 under the auspice of the Home Care Service. It was re auspiced on November 1st 2007 becoming a part of Community Options Illawarra Inc.

COI Shellharbour office opened in September 2010

COI Gunning office opened in November 2010

It is an incorporated association managed by a Board of Management representing the community, health and community service providers and care recipients and/ or their peak organisations

COI has been a HACC service provider for 20 years

COI has been a Aged Care provider for 8 years with CACPs for people from CALD backgrounds & is an Approved Provider for Flexible Aged Care

COI has provided a Health discharge service for 3 years

COI is a viable and growing organisation

COI has experience & expertise to provide case management & brokerage services for frail older people, people with disabilities & their carers

COI has always been involved in working co-operatively with other organisations

COI has developed pilot programs & services in conjunction with other organisations to increase service provision in the sector.
